Outdoor Adventures Environmental Commitment
Outdoor Adventures is committed to being an industry leader in stewardship and sustainability. We are continuously working to refine our operations to be the best and most efficient possible. Through this process we have developed a number of programs to reduce our footprint on the natural environment. We continually work to educate our staff and guests and will continue to lead the adventure tour business into the next generation of environmental best practices.
Outdoor Adventures is a Carbon Neutral Company
Outdoor Adventures Whistler has integrated a formal greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting process into our annual reporting, and has been completely Carbon Neutral since April 30, 2007. We have retained a GHG accounting firm to measure the greenhouse gas footprint of our operations, and have taken measures to offset our emissions. As an organization, Outdoor Adventures will continually quantify its carbon inventory, set targets, and implement GHG reductions over time. Should there be greenhouse gases that it cannot reduce to zero through its reduction efforts, it will purchase quality, verified, carbon offsets to bring its carbon impact to zero.
Outdoor Adventures and our consultants are using the World Resource Institute's GHG Protocol as its standard when measuring greenhouse gases. The GHG Protocol (www.ghgprotocol.org) is the most widely used international accounting tool for business and government leaders to understand, quantify, and manage greenhouse gases. It provides the accounting framework for nearly every GHG standard and program in the world from the International Standards Organization, the EU Emissions Trading Scheme to The Climate Registry - as well as hundreds of GHG inventories prepared by individual companies.

Outdoor Adventures Recycles
OAW has developed comprehensive recycling programs at all of our office and operating locations in Whistler and procures recycled and post-consumer paper as well as "environmental" products whenever possible. This includes furniture, carpet, lighting, cleaning agents and other office items.
Clean Technology
OAW uses only the best available four-stroke technology from Yamaha motorsports which is more efficient and cleaner than any other equipment on the market today.
